Fire Resistant Building Materials Company Hires U.S. Sales Manager to Increase Blazeguard Brand Awareness and Increase Sales to Homebuilders and Contractors Nationwide

WATKINS, Minn. & VANCOUVER, B.C. - June 15, 2005 - International Barrier Technology Inc. ("Barrier") (OTCBB: IBTGF; TSXV: IBH), a manufacturer of proprietary fire resistant building materials marketed under the Blazeguard® brand, has engaged Mr. James A. Kleinke in the newly created role of sales manager, U.S. Operations. This senior role was created to manage the expansion of Barriers emerging markets and to manage the increasing demand of Blazeguard® across the country. This will also enable Dr. Michael Huddy to concentrate his efforts on new market and product development, licensing agreements (both domestic and abroad), joint ventures and the completion of Barrier's new production facility.

Mr. Kleinke has had an impressive track record over his 21-year career creating and improving sales in competitive, challenging, diverse and variable markets. He has a history leading start-ups, meeting aggressive deadlines for growth performance, and delivering sustainable financial gains. He brings a wide range of experience and background from start up and expansion opportunities in both the manufacturing, service and technology fields.

"I believe that Blazeguard® technology can revolutionize the construction industry as well as make the world a safer place to live - a quality product with added value to the consumer. That is the formula for success in any market," stated Mr. Kleinke.

Prior to joining International Barrier, Mr. Kleinke was a District Sales Manager for G & K Services, Inc. where he was a regional Star Performer 8 times, recognized as part of the company's Top Sales Team and achieved Presidents Club status multiple times (125% + over quota as sales manager). He consistently exceeded sales quotas in each year of his tenure - by as much as 469%. Mr. Kleinke was also a Sales Manager for Schaefer Ventilation & Equipment where he oversaw 11 separate markets and increased sales 170%.

Mr. Kleinke has a B.A. Degree in Business Economics as well as a B.A. Degree in Speech Communication from the University of Minnesota in 1983.

With the addition of Mr. Kleinke to International Barrier, the Company intends to capitalize on their anticipated ICC Evaluation Services report. This will facilitate the approval and specification of Blazeguard® in applications under the new International Building Code across the United States.
